Landline by Rainbow Rowell

*Psst* Click the picture to find a copy

I have had this book on my list for a very long time. I bought it right after I finished Fangirl and I wanted to read more of Rainbow Rowell's work. I was super excited because the hardback is less than $6 on sale at B&N! I admit to being a total book snob and preferring hardback books, so getting this one for such a great price really made my day!

I was really interested to read this because it's one of Rowell's adult fictions. I had a love/hate relationship with Fangirl, so I was intrigued to see how she handled an adult main character. This was my travel book for the last two weeks and I loved it! I didn't know how I felt about the main character, Georgie, being a wife and mother because I'm not and sometimes find relating to those characters hard (I never read the books about women going through a divorce or about how raising teenagers are hard. I just don't get it and find it rather boring.). Thank goodness this book was more about her relationship and finding what's most important in her life and left the children and mom stuff more as a B-story line. I also never really liked Georgie's husband, Neal, which made cheering for their relationship a little difficult. He seemed like a real stick in the mud.

I loved Georgie's best friend, Seth, because he reminded me so much of mine. They meet in college at a student publication, they're creative partners and when given the chance they spend more time together than with anyone else. So basically my college and current life minus the possible romantic aspect.

I did see the ending coming, but it was still a fun book to read all the way through. Rainbow Rowell writes the best characters and even the supporting characters are so colorful. Georgie's mom and sister really made me laugh.

I completely recommend this book and everything that Rainbow Rowell writes!

Happy reading! I hope you add this one to your shelf!

Love you lots,
