Spring Designer Dupes!

At the end of summer last year I did a huge closet clean out. I boxed up multiple containers and filled more than a few garbage bags of clothes that I just wasn't going to get much use out of anymore. I was brutal, there were clothes flying everywhere and in the end I had a nice little space in my closet for new things.

Now that the weather is warming up and the sun is shining, I've been doing quite a bit of shopping to fill in the gaps and replace some of the more tired pieces that got scrapped last year. As always, I wanted to find pieces that are in style this spring, but also classic enough to wear through summer and maybe even into next season.

I am a huge proponent for buying things based on cost per wear and that's why I love these splurge or save posts. If you're going to wear something 100 times and it cost $200, it's worth spending the money on a brand, fabric and design that will hold up to the use. However, if you love a trend but only think you can style it one way then it's better to buy the $20 option that you'll only wear 10 times. Regardless, at the end of the day your cost per wear for both pieces is $2 and we can all afford that! I recently bought this Sole Society bag (it's out of stock in Ivory, but they keep restocking!) because while I love the YSL version, I wasn't sure how such a light colored bag would wear long term. I find the vegan leather is a little easier to clean and if it get's scuffed or my denim transfers it won't be a $3,000 mistake.

This spring I am loving the classic, preppy silhouettes. It's always been a favorite look of mine, but J. Crew has really been crushing it this season. There's a definite chance that I've placed a few orders in the last few months. I have seen so many bloggers with the light pink Balmain blazer and it's the most stunning piece of structured outerwear I've seen in a long time. I love the silver hardware and the super crisp lines, but I'm moving at the end of the summer and it's simply not in the budget. However, I've definitely got my eye on this beautiful style from White House Black Market! How cute would that be with this lacy top, my new structured satchel, and a strappy sandal? And I might just have to throw these new sunnies into the mix, too!

What trends are you loving this month?

Love you lots,
