Wish Upon a Star

All things celestial are so trendy right now and there's just something so Christmas-y about the stars and a cold winter night. Honestly, one of the things I miss the most about living in the Napa Valley are the amazing stars at night. Austin just has too many city lights to see them!

A few weeks ago I found a Philosophy Cashmere sweater (similar to this one) with the cutest star print and ever since I've been sold on this whole trend. Thankfully, my incredibly trendy best friend has been into star print and zodiac symbols for a while, so I was able to find some super cute options for last minute holiday gifts! Also, so many of these are on sale!

I think by far my favorite thing on this whole list is the gold coin necklace with my zodiac symbol on it. I love jewelry like this that's super easy to throw on with almost any outfit. I also just found out that I get to take a super fun trip early in the new year, so this passport cover and luggage tag would be so perfect as a stocking stuffer. Any traveler on your list would love a cute (and high quality) passport cover!

Lastly, if you love when your house smells like the holidays this Diptyque candle is THE ONLY way to go! I buy the Christmas tree scent every single year. It does change year to year, but I still have last year's version and they are super similar! If you don't know the brand, these are pretty expensive candles, but I swear that it's worth the splurge.

I hope this gift guide helps with some of your last minute shopping! I'm wishing on a star tonight that each and everyone of you have an amazing holiday season!

Merry Christmas!

Love you lots,

Ho Ho Holo

This gift guide is for the person on your list loves glitz and glitter. The holographic trend really took over this summer, but I know of a few people who are still holding on strong to this rainbow sheen.

I have to admit this trend is a little too shiny for my every day taste, but I do L.O.V.E these vases. I could definitely see this making a gorgeous gift with a big bow and some fresh pine springs in the top (maybe some twigs with berries on them). I feel like I keep talking about hostess gifts, but if you need to take something to a Christmas party this is the way to go. It can be displayed immediately and then the vase can be displayed after the holidays!

I'm also always looking for a good wristlet or small bag (Rebecca Minkoff version). I rarely ever carry them on its own, but I pack them full and put them in my travel bags. It keeps everything organized in my carry on and I love this silver one because it would be so easy to see in my backpack.

While searching for all of these beautiful gifts I found this ring with a gorgeous opal stone. While it is one of the more expensive things in my gift guides, if you're buying for that special someone I think it could be a real hit! You know what they say? The best prizes come in small boxes.

Not into the glitz and shine? Check out my Marble gift guide for a more subdued gift.

And if there's someone on your list who's constantly looking to the sky and making wishes on stars check back tomorrow for a starry gift guide!

Merry Christmas!

Love you lots,

Disclaimer: I know that Holographic is a very specific thing and not all of these fall under that category. I've combined opalescent, holograms and holographic all into one.

Marble Christmas!

Do you have a fashionista on your shopping list? That person who's always looking for something "Instagram worthy" or who spends hours whitening the backgrounds of their images in FaceTune. The person on your list that although we are half way through the month you have no idea what to get them because you're afraid your taste won't meet their very high, social media conscience expectations. I have one word for you: Marble.

Marble is not a new trend, but it's one that continues to grow year after year. So whether you need a hostess gift or something to wrap and put under the tree one of these gifts are sure to please. The best part is that marble can really work seamlessly into anyone's decor. My house is very modern with a ton of midcentury finishes and this tray sits on our bar cabinet beautifully. On the flipside, my parent's house is more traditional with modern ranch style thrown in and I can easily see this candle fitting in beautifully on a side table in the living room.

Of course, some people may find getting an agenda for the new year a little boring, but babes I'm already shopping for mine! It would be a dream to wake up on Christmas morning to find a gorgeous planner for the next year. A perfectly scheduled week is the gift that keeps on giving!

And I have to mention this watch because I am obsessed with it! I have a very similar watch, though, so it's not something I will be adding to my collection, but I really hope that some of you do! It's too cute not to share, but I've also shared a similar one down below with a gray strap if the metal rose gold version isn't your thing.

Check back the next few days for a few more print themed gift guides!

Merry Christmas!

Love you lots,

Gifts that Give Back!

This is the season of giving! I absolutely love giving gifts to all of my friends and family. I have a tendency to go overboard every single year (sorry bank account),  but I just can't help it. Now I know giving gifts isn't the only way to show people how much I appreciate and love them, but at Christmas time I take advantage of the season and splurge a little.

This year, however, I want to make an effort to buy gifts that everyone on my list will enjoy, but will also give back to causes that they care about. It shows how much you know them and helps support charitable companies at the same time. You can also donate to a cause on your families behalf, but if you want a gift for them to open on Christmas morning these are all amazing options. This year I scoured the Internet and all the brands I love to find gift options that support some of my favorite causes. I was so excited to see that Tory Burch is supporting women entrepreneurs and that the Kate Spade On Purpose brand is still going strong!

I wanted this guide to cover everyone on your list. Kiddos will love the plush animals, the Kate Spade On Purpose bags will be a hit with all of the ladies on your list, and a yummy chocolate bar makes an amazing stocking stuffer! I did link a woman's pair of sunglasses, but check out the men's line at Warby Parker because they have so many amazing choices.

My challenge to all of you is to give at least one gift this year that gives back! Hopefully, my family isn't reading this, but I've already bought each of them a bag of Grounds & Hounds coffee from a local shop here in Austin (Support Local, too!)! We are all huge coffee drinkers and puppy lovers, so it's perfect!

Pick a charity and find a way to support them however you can because it's great to give to your loved ones, but also important to give to charity.

Merry Christmas!

Love you lots,

Colorful Christmas: Winter White

I've saved the best for last. At least that's what my mom would say. White is her favorite color and over the years I've started to see why! It's clean and crisp and can definitely be worn in the winter!

My first recommendation are one of these sets of earrings. You can't go wrong with gifting jewelry and pearls are my everyday go-to. For a more fun look try these Kate Spade pearl hoops. They would look amazing for holiday parties with a white dress if you want to treat yourself before Christmas or beautiful with an LBD for your New Year's parties. However, if you're looking for a classic gift and your budget is a little more, go for these pearl studs. My dad gave me a pair when I was in high school and they've become my every day earrings. They look classic and the white gold studs won't irritate your ears.

My BF thinks I have a problem because I love blankets. We recently moved and let's just say there were a few boxes dedicated to my collection. I have a fuzzy white one that's super similar to this one and it's one of my faves. Not only does it look great tossed over the back of a couch, but it's super cozy when it's time for a movie night!

Last year I bought this Kensie coat in the light tan color. I wore it with this striped tee, jeans and a light purple scarf. It's so cozy, but looks so fashionable at the same time. I don't recommend wearing it in the rain, though (learn from my mistakes)!

Merry Christmas!

If you missed them don't forget to check out my Millennial Pink and Icicle Blue gift guides from earlier today!

Colorful Christmas: Icicle Blue

I get it! Not everyone is in love with the Millennial pink trend. Maybe your baby loves blue. I mean I do.

This shade of blue isn't usually what you would call a "winter" shade, but it was on this year's FW 17 Pantone list and that's basically color trend law. Let's just say I was a little more than thrilled to see it there. Blue has always been my favorite color!

This powder blue is such a flattering color and is a great shade to make a statement with in the colder months. Can we talk about how amazing this coat is? If only it were colder than 80 degrees here in Austin! Throw it over a camel sweater dress and some OTK boots and a structured bag for a classic winter look. Wear a flat or lower heeled boot and you could do some serious Christmas shopping and look amazing doing it!

I can honestly say that anything on this list would make my Christmas list. I actually just ordered these pajamas (they're $14!) to wear while I'm home for Christmas. I'm going to throw this chunky sweater over them for chillier mornings. It's Texas and flannel PJs are just way too much. I love these because even though they are short and seersucker-ish, the floral border looks just like Poinsettias!

It's too bad we already have a hot water kettle. Hold on while I go hide it so I can replace it with this Smeg version! I mean it's totally kitchen goals.

Merry Christmas! There's one more color headed your way in a few hours! Check back to see my pick in winter white.

Love you lots,

Colorful Christmas: Millennial Pink

Maybe it's the perfectionist in me or the love for a good color-coordinated Instagram photo, I decided that this year my gift guides would be organized in the season's biggest colors.

Shopping for your loved ones can be so tough, especially for that girl who has everything or is just super picky about everything *sheepishly raises hand*.  However, find out what color they love and your shopping options get narrowed down quite a bit!

Millennial Pink was by far the biggest color this year. I have to admit that I am not a "pink person," but I love this paler, more nude shade. At the top of my wish list this year is anything by Monica Vinader. Her pieces come in a variety of prices that can fit a number of budgets and most pieces come in silver, gold and rose gold so you can pick something to fit everyone's personal style. The options are almost endless, but you can't go wrong because they are all beautiful! Looking for something just as sparkly, but even lower in price? This Kendra Scott necklace is beautiful and I wear a white version all the time!

I'm also loving this cardigan! I tried to order it during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but it sold out so fast! It's back in stock now and would look so cute with pjs unwrapping gifts or during the day on Christmas with dark jeans and some OTK boots. If you're running around to visit friends and family just throw on this pale pink bag to really indulge in this color trend.

For the perfect stocking stuffers, I would hands down recommend these gummy treats from Sugarfina. They've been trendy for a few years, but they are so good! I don't normally have sugar-y treats around the house, but these are always welcome! Also, for a huge discount you can pick up these Lorac lip glosses. I picked up last year's version and love them so much! Grab this set and break it up for each of your gal pals! Tie them up in a bow on top of the gift for a cute extra little something.

Merry Christmas! Check back later for more gifts in a new colors.

Love you lots,

Fall's Biggest Trend: Red

Whether you've watched the runway shows or just picked up a few fall fashion magazines you've probably seen that red on red on red is taking over this season. Personally, I love the color, but I do understand the hesitation to go out in head-to-toe red.

Just like all colors red comes in many different variations. Going head-to-toe red means you can mix and match your shades like this Victoria Beckham look or you can go monochrome Ã  la Givenchy. So if you want to go all out and try an all red look, add a few accessories to your wardrobe in the season's hottest color, or just dip your toe into the trend with a red lip or classic manicure, I've found some of my favorite pieces in four of the main reds you'll see in stores!

Hunter Wellies || Pepe Jeans Tailored Pants || J. Crew Topcoat ||

Bright red is the the classic apple red, the chic red lip we all search for, the color my mom has painted her nails for as long as I can remember (I've linked her favorite shade). This red is a color so many people can wear, but is bright enough to really make a statement. If you don't want to spend a ton of money on a trend this is a safe color to pick up some classic pieces in. The bright red won't really over go out and you can always enjoy a red cashmere sweater around the holidays.
Free People Scarf || J. Crew Signet Bag || Kendra Scott Earrings ||
Moon and Lola Ring || YSL Lip in Orange Electro || Boden Sweater ||
Boden Booties || Sam Edelman Mules || Boden Skirt ||

Scarlet is a much more vibrant color with a bit of orange mixed in. This color isn't something I normally gravitate towards, but these pieces are all something I would love to add to my closet. In fact, I've considered picking up the three pieces from Boden to really try the head-to-toe look. If you really want to go monochrome, I reccommend picking up all the pieces from the same brand to ensure that the reds are super close. Pairing three pieces that are slightly off looks like a mistake. You can totally wear a darker red from down below with one of these two lighter shades, though, if you want to spread the wealth!

Enter my all time favorite shade of red: Cranberry! This is a darker red with a pink undertone. It's universally flattering and just screams fall. It's the color of the deepest red fall leaves. There are quite a few pieces in my closet in this shade already, but I might be adding a few more this season (totally adding this sweater, while it's on sale)! This is the shade that I will spend a little more on because I know I will wear it year after year. I mean those Sam Edelman pumps are kind of must for cropped denim and a chunky sweater.

Oxblood has been a popular shade for a few FW season now. If you've never worn red or aren't sure about the color on you, purchase something in this shade. It's a dark enough color that you won't feel like a walking stop sign and it can basically be worn as a neutral. Pair this blazer with a striped tee under it or this skirt (keep an eye on it to come back in stock in your size) with a pale pink sweater for another take on the red-tone look.

Are you planning to try out an all-red look this season? I'd love to see it!

Love you lots,

Great Fall Finds from Target!

I was with my mom a few weeks ago in Oklahoma City. We were there for a wedding and ended up having to make a Target trip to pick up a few essentials that we forgot (I needed nail polish, ok!). Of course, because it's Target we ended up leaving with a whole basket of stuff that I then had to fit into my suitcase for the flight home.

One of those amazing finds was this Boyfriend Blazer that I am in love with and this cute, cozy wrap which will look so great with my Stuart Weitzman Highland boots! I will also probably go back for this cropped olive jacket! One of the coolest thing about this line is that it's super inclusive and most of the looks come in plus sizes, so everyone can take advantage of these awesome look-a-likes! Of course, these Target pieces aren't the highest quality, but to get all of these pieces for under $50 it's a great way to add some trendy pieces to your closet!

The Boyfriend Blazer: I've fallen in love with the look of a boyfriend blazer, black jeans and Chelsea boots. There are some super expensive versions out there (hello, Stella McCartney), but for a tenth of the price of the super popular Anine Bing version this is a great option. I bought it in a size 12 so it would be really oversized. I plan to push up the sleeves for a more casual look. I love that even though there's a red stripe running through it you can wear it as a neutral and layer it with almost any top in your collection.

The Tweed Coat: I have been lusting after this Ted Baker coat all season! However, I can't justify spending $600 on a coat when I live in Texas. There just aren't enough cold days to really enjoy this beautiful piece! Also, for that much money I would rather invest in a neutral color that will never go out. (It's still on my wish list, though!) So, this coat isn't a one-to-one dupe, but when I walked up on it in the store I immediately thought of the Ted Baker style. The colors are similar and so great for fall. It's unlined, but maybe that's better for the mild winter months ahead. Either way, you can get a very similar look with this cute tweed coat! I bought a small and it's just a tad oversized, but I might keep my eye out for a medium to get even more of that overcoat effect.

The Wax Jacket: I own this Barbour coat and it's one of the best investment pieces I've ever purchased. The Fall and Winter runways showed a lot of classic Americana looks and while Barbour is technically a quintessential British brand, if you throw this jacket on with your favorite jeans, a pair of rain boots and a cozy scarf you have best apple picking outfit ever! It's amazing that A New Day has a much cheaper option on the market now. Real wax coats take a lot of maintenance and I bet the Target version is a lot easier to maintain. It comes in a few colors, but my navy jacket has never let me down.

The Black Booties: Once again these aren't as good of a dupe as I'd like, but they are basically the baby of a Stuart Weitzman Grandiose boots and the super popular pearl-heeled style. Obviously, for under $40 these A New Day booties aren't real leather, but the chunky heel and crystal embellishments will ensure that you're hitting two big shoe trends this season. Also, the star-like pattern on the heel screams "celestial" which basically is the biggest print trend right now and appeared on multiple runways, including Dior. I haven't tried them on, so the comfort level is unknown, but they're dying to be worn to your holiday parties!

The Satchel: If you have the budget and you're looking to add a black bag to your collection I wouldn't hesitate to grab this one. It's a lot cheaper than some of the higher end designers, but the shape is classic and the mixed materials make it look so luxe. However, for $38 you can get the same shape, plus add the snake-skin look and a gorgeous color! I have a Kate Spade Croco bag that I bought a few years ago and I was worried it would be hard to carry because of the color, but I break it out every fall and winter. You can instantly elevate an outfit by adding a colored bag. Plus, I love both of these because you can wear it as a crossbody or carry it by the top handles for a more classic look.

Not that you needed any more of an excuse to give Target all of your money, but this new line makes it even more tempting!

Love you lots,
