Cashmere and Suede!

When I found out I was heading to Portland for a few days I immediately threw a few of my favorite cashmere sweaters into my suitcase. So many other bloggers are moving on to Spring and I wish I could, but with 40 degree weather I'm sticking to my cozy cashmere. Winter isn't quite over in the Northwest!

The best part is I get to enjoy some of my favorite winter clothes for a few more weeks. This skirt is about two years old and I can't believe I've had it that long. It's such a great piece to throw on with any top. I love it in the cooler months with sweaters, but it looks great with summery white tops and strappy wedges in the warmer months.

As for accessories, you're going to see my Speedy 30 in a few posts this week. It's my favorite bag to travel with because it fits so much in it, but is so much more manageable than a tote. Now that I am back home my accessories game will be much stronger. This statement necklace is a new fav, too. It was a post-Christmas sale purchase and there are some very similar and cute options still on sale!

Since I was in Portland, I made a quick trip to Powell's! Just a heads up there's a book haul coming soon!

Love you lots,

Keeping Time with JORD

Zebrawood & Emerald JORD Watch ||
J. Crew Factory Jeans || ASTR Sweater (similar here, here & here) ||
Suede Taupe Boots (Super old, but try these or these) || Street Level Tote ||
Similar Anthropologie Choker || Anthropologie Sunnies || Talbots Earrings (try these!)||

There are two accessories that I never leave the house without: My sunnies and a watch. I have pale blue eyes that are wildly sensitive to the sun and I'm so Type A that I panic if I can't tell what time it is at all times of day. So my accessory storage bins are filled with sunnies and my jewelry box is crammed with watches. No it's not excessive... You have to have the perfect option for every outfit. Lol!

I am always on the lookout for something new and different when it comes to the perfect watch. Like I said I have quite a collection, so the basics are all covered. Now to justify the expense there has to be something special that grabs my attention: a unique watch. I started seeing the JORD wooden watches popping up all over Instagram and the bloggersphere and I was definitely intrigued. So when JORD reached out to work with me I was thrilled.

When I first opened my watch box (the packaging is insanely gorgeous) I was super surprised to find how light the watch was. As someone who normally wears a metal our leather band the wood is not only gorgeous, but light as a feather. Maybe that's not the most interesting thing to some of my readers, but for a person with small wrists it's nice to not feel like you're wearing handcuffs. It's also amazing that it comes with cleaning supplies so your watch will look great for years to come.

As for styling, I've turned to this watch so much over the last few weeks. It's been raining like crazy, so my go-to uniform has been sweaters, jeans, boots and, of course, this watch. I love having a new option that looks great with my casual outfits and still works with jewelry because #armparty. JORD has so many options for their women's watches and I really want to add this one to my collection, too. I love having the darker one with the emerald (my birthstone) face and I think having a lighter one to turn to for summer would be great! Basically, there's a style for each and every wardrobe (including men's watches for your guy)!

Don't forget to enter the contest linked below for a chance to add a JORD watch to your wardrobe!

Love you lots,

Be Mine? For your guy!

In my last post (the gal's gift guide), I talked a lot about how much Valentine's Day means to me and why I think everyone should celebrate this year. To reiterate, there's a lot of hate in the world right now and I think we should all spread some happiness and love on February 14! I don't necessarily think we need a special day to remember to be kind to one another, but it's a day about love so let's really get into the spirit and be great, loving and nice people.

I love giving gifts and I never need a holiday as an excuse (sorry bank account), but I just like making people smile. Valentine's and Easter are just two more holidays that I can get creative and make some awesome goodies or find a great gift to give. However, I always struggle finding the right gift for my guy friends, boyfriend and the guys in my family. Boys are just hard to shop for!

So if you're shopping for the guys in your life I've compiled a few ideas that will be romantic, but not super cheesy. I plan to hand make my BF's gift this year, but I know we don't all have the time to get crafty. I'm struggling to figure out when I'm going to have the time, too! lol! But when in doubt baked goods go a long way!

What are you planning to get your guy?

Love you lots,

Be Mine?

I can't believe it's already the first of February and I am already behind schedule!! Now that January is behind us and we're only two weeks away from Valentine's Day I wanted to create a few gift guides. No matter if you're celebrating with a significant other, throwing a 'Gal'entines party, or just hanging out with family it's always nice to give a little gift to show your love.

Of course, I know people who refuse to celebrate Valentine's day, but this year more than ever I think it's a great reminder to spread some love to those around you. Bring a coffee to a co-worker, bake cookies for a neighbor or just send out cards to your closest — believe me after these last few weeks anyone would love to feel remembered and cared for. Small gestures have just as much impact as giving a gift and are usually remembered long after the physical gift is gone.

I grew up in a household where every holiday was a big holiday and that included February 14. My parents loved to celebrate and we've always really cherished family time, so any holiday gave us an excuse to to crank up the family time to a 15 (it was generally at a constant 10). When I was little we would wake up to a small basket of goodies and we'd have doughnuts or chocolate covered strawberries for breakfast (a big deal in my otherwise health conscious household). To this day I love baking treats for my friends, getting a gift for my guy and sending out handmade notes to my friends! I've heard it's a holiday created by the greeting card companies, but I love it anyway!

What are your plans for V-Day?

I'll be posting a gift guide for your guy later this evening!

Love you lots,
Quick shopping!
