Summer Must: White Denim

Every girl needs a great pair of jeans! In the summer that transitions into needing a great pair of white jeans! I have been on the hunt for the last few months for the perfect pair and here are four that I've found and wanted to share with you! From the affordable classic to designer denim, I truly believe everyone can find their perfect pair in their perfect price range.

When you're looking for the perfect pair go in with an open mind and don't settle for a pair that don't fit you great. White jeans have a reputation for making you look bigger, which makes sense, black recedes and white advances. Blah, blah, blah. White jeans can look great on everyone as long as you find your pair. For me, it's a jean with very little Spandex. The more stretchy fabric means less cotton and it allows the denim to stretch over the areas you might want to camouflage.

Levi's Cropped 535 Leggings: You can't go wrong with the classic Levi brand! I love that this pair has the cropped ankle. I actively look for cropped pants for the summer time so I can show off all my cute sandals! I like these because the denim quality is really good and they're under $50! This pair falls right in line with my not-too-stretchy policy.

J. Crew Stretch Toothpick Jean: I own this pair of jeans in a dark blue wash and I adore them. These are pretty stretchy, they're very jegging-esque, so usually they'd be against my white denim stretch rule, but they're cute and they come in tall sizes! Plus, if $115 is just out of budget there is a very similar pair at J. Crew Factory for under $50! (they're on sale right now and usually $80)

Joe's Stay Spotless Annie Jean: This pair of jeans is rather pricy at $179.00, but there's a reason for it! This magical pair of pants repels stains! It's a waterproof, spill proof pair of pants! For a clumsy person like me this denim technology is a God send. Red wine, coffee, black tea and other things that spill (Read: That I spill all the time) basically just wipe off! SO you splurge on this magical pair of pants and never have to buy white jeans again because they'll stay white!

rag & bone Dre Slim Boyfriend Jean: rag & bone is one of my favorite companies. Their booties are to die for and I've never heard a bad thing about their denim. Yes, they are really pricy, yes you'll be dropping two hundred dollar bills on the table in exchange. But give up Starbucks for a few weeks (I know it would be tough), but then you have the spare cash and can buy this lovely treat! Also, I'm not a fan of super low-rise jeans and this mid-rise is just right!

If you need exercise bands Amazon has a ton of options.

See You at the Office

Blazer: Nordstrom Rack || Top: Francesca's (Sold out, but this one is so similar) || Jeans: Levi's || Shoes: Sam Edelman Felicia Flats || Necklace: Stephan & Co. (Check Nordstrom Rack, or this one!) || Bracelet: Bella Jack (And I love this one!) || Earrings: Kendra Scott || Sunnies: Kate Spade (mine are in Tortoise)

So I want to first apologize for the quality of these pictures. I loved this outfit so much, but forgot my camera and used my phone instead and, well, my iPhone doesn't compare to the Canon. Like I said, I really liked this outfit, so I'm posting it anyways.

I love to dress up, but business outfits are not my favorite. Pencil skirts, blazers and pumps are a super cute look and I love Claire Underwood's clean-cut style, but I'm a jeans girl at heart. Plus, if I wore a blazer and a pencil skirt to work I think I would stick out like a sore thumb. Dressing up my jeans with a cute top and blazer is one of my favorite looks and while it's not acceptable for every work place, it's a great look for going out to dinner or brunch on a chilly Sunday morning.

I have also recently rediscovered Levi's and now I can't remember why I ever stopped wearing them! I go through phases looking for the perfect new pair of jeans, my most recent being Joe's Jeans, but thanks to some serious exercise with Matt those were all a bit too big. I wandered into the Levi's store and found myself buying three pairs! I am going back this week to get a new pair of white jeans!!

I also really love this new bracelet! I found it at Marshall's for $16! Plus, now you can shop online at T.J. Maxx!! I've been in love with the Kiel James Patrick version, but I couldn't decide between it and this one and now I can treat myself! I mean who couldn't use a new pearl bracelet!

Go out and spread some sunlight today on this beautiful Sunday!

Love you bunches,

The Girl on The Train by Paula Hawkins

*Psst* Click the picture to find a copy

I got The Girl on The Train for my birthday last week and I devoured it! All I wanted to do was read this book. I took it to the gym, I stayed up way too late reading it and I took it into the bath and read until the water was cold, it was that captivating.

The story follows three women and is told in morning and evening segments, following the timetable for the commuter train in and out of London. Between the made-up fantasies, the love triangles, the mental breakdowns, and the struggle to be a better person this book just gives and gives.

So while it’s a mystery thriller, it isn’t scary or gory. There’s a lot of psychology involved and the reader really gets to delve into the minds of the narrators (there are three) and see why they make the decisions they do. I really liked that added depth!

I also found it interesting that, in my opinion at least, there is no clear protagonist. Yes, there are main characters of course, but I despised and adored each character at some point throughout the book.  You hate the decisions they make and then you love some insight they have on the world. You are certain they’re just totally screwed up and then you find out what triggered it and you’re empathetic to their choices. This book has so many layers, and each one was crafted to fit with the others beautifully. And I loved all the back stories and character development!

I was honestly sad when I finished this book. I had to detox from reading for a few days before I could start another because I was in mourning that I had finished it. Usually, I read books that have gotten a lot of hype, either award winners or NYT bestsellers, and I am disappointed because they never live up to the hype, but The Girl on The Train most definitely deserves every bit of praise that it has received. Plus, you don't figure out the killer until the very end!

I'm hoping that someone writes a really artsy/indie screenplay and turns this story into a brilliant mini-series or a movie. It deserves so much more than to be a fluffy studio production.

If you haven’t read this book yet go buy it, download it, or check it out from the library. If you already own it, drop everything you're doing, bookmark your current book and start this one!

Five out of five owls for this awesome story:

It's a Party in a Box!

Yesterday when I got home this cute little box was sitting on my doorstep. One of the most amazing people I know and best friends, Sam, sent me a Packed Party for my birthday! I had never heard of a Packed Party box, but now I am obsessed and had to share just how amazing this box of goodness is!!! It's seriously just a really awesome party in a box!

When you first open it up there is metallic confetti stuffing and a cute little note from the sender! Also, when I first opened this box it smelled so good! It took everything in me to not rush through and see what was inside and pause to take pictures! It. Smelled. So. Good! And the packaging was really cute! (p.s. This is the You Pampered Thing, You box)

Then right underneath all the filling is the cutest display of all the products. And this is the point where I fell in love with this box all over again. So between last night and this morning I promptly used all five products because that's just how excited I was.

I am a strong believer that every girl needs a super cute sleeping mask! It's a sleepover essential, great for costume/pajama parties and a lifesaver on long plane rides. Even with this philosophy I don't own one ... Sure, sure I have a gray one and a cream one that came in a spa bag, but "super cute" is really the essential part in this whole thing. I love this one it has gold polkadots, it references confetti (one of my favorite things), and the strap on the back is made of elastic ribbon so it's comfy!

Illume makes some of my all time favorite candles (Mediterranean and Fresh Rain), plus they're always in such cute packaging you can leave them out as decoration and they're soy! So when I saw a scent I've never tried (Cactus Verde), in the cutest little tin, I rushed for a lighter. In no time at all my room smelled amazing! I hate when you light a candle and you can't smell it until you're right next to it, but this candle and all Illume candles are really able to give the entire room fragrance.

This bar of soap is the reason the box smelled so good, just like lavender! I am currently using another bar of soap and to be honest I couldn't bare ripping into the cute paper wrapped around it. So for now I am using it as a decoration and a pop of color in my guest bathroom. I love the floral print, and the stag foil logo pressed into the top!

And you can't be pampered without a few new beauty products to try! This box came with a floral scented hand cream by Love & Toast (it's made in the USA!) and a bareMinerals Pop of Passion colored Lip-Oil Balm. I have super dry hands. I work with paper all day and I wash them all the time leading to very little moisture hanging around. I always carry some kind of hand cream in my purse and this Paper Flower one has taken over! It's super thick so a little goes a long way and the smell is subtle and pretty. Don't be that person that puts on hand cream and makes the whole office smell like soap, some people don't like that person. (I've been that person..) I used this hours ago and I still feel moisturized without feeling greasy!

The lip balm in pink passion is the prettiest shade of light pink! It's a shade that I can wear every day to add a little color, when I don't feel like rocking a statement lip. It's a lip balm on top of being a color, so it also moisturizes as an added bonus!

So I am sold on how great these boxes are to send everyone you know. They have options for every occasion so really there's no excuse to not send one out! They are affordable and in my opinion way better than sending a bouquet of flowers or an edible arrangement, but with the same easy online ordering process.

Thank you so much Sam for making my birthday special! Thank you for being such a great friend even when we are so far apart and for introducing me to the coolest products! Love ya!

So now it's your turn to spread some sunlight and send someone you love a Packed Party box! This box really made my day so I know it works!

Love you bunches,

Just a Little Fringe

Dress: Lady Noiz || Shoes: Guess (old, but check out these, these and these!) ||
Earrings: Kendra Scott || Sunnies: Ray-Ban

I saw this dress and immediately fell in love. The fringe detailing around the arms and the bottom of is so fun. The pattern and the fringe together plus the flowing sleeves makes this dress so different from anything I've seen before. It definitely isn't something that I would normally wear, but I'm so glad that I gave it a try. What's fashion without being a little daring every now and again? This dress is a size small and still fits really loose so if you're trying to show off those bikini abs you've been working I don't recommend it, but if you love flowy dresses like me this ones a winner!

I have also been loving turquoise jewelry recently. Of course, you can never go wrong with Kendra Scott! Plan on seeing these with a thousand outfits this summer because I love them so much!

Also, my favorite drink lately is Mighty Leaf Green Tea Tropical. I've been drinking it iced with my lunch almost every day. I tried it hot in the morning in place of my coffee and it was really good, too. I think this green tea is going to be my summer drink!

Spread some sunlight today!

Love you tons,

Box it out! Monday with Matt!!

Happy Monday lovelies! Here's a super short and effective cardio workout for when exercise just doesn't fit into your busy socialite schedule!

I have to apologize because while I was talking to you, I lost count in my head for a lot of the exercises! I have to work on that!! But don't worry we tell you exactly what to do, so enjoy the extra reps and please accept my apology.

Cardio doesn't always mean needing a treadmill or an elliptical! Run through these exercises three times and you'll break a sweat, get your heart rate up and never have to leave the house!

Don't forget to stretch and drink water!

Let me know you have any fitness questions! Matt and I will make sure to answer them!

Make some time for yourself today and don't forget to spread some sunlight!

Lots of love,
